Friday 18 January

The first week back home has been awesome.  Everytime I go away from Stellenbosch or the greater Cape Peninsuala in general I just realize how lucky I am to be living here!!!

It was good to see Rici(Ricardalisk@web.de) again, she went home for Christmas but will now be staying and training with me until the end of Fenruary.

Good news for the week was that my Scottish housemate, Fraser Cartmell(frasercartmell.com) finished third in the South African 70.3 Ironman in East-London on the weekend.Awesome.
Dan Hugo(dghugo.com) won Totalsports Challenge again!Dan and I have been training and racing together since I can remember, and I am very happy to see him become a superstar!

Training this week went really well, I am just having so much fun at the moment and I think that is what relates to good training!My favourite session of this week, must be the all girls ride on Thursday morning .Rici, Vicky van der Merwe and myself . Good to catch up with both of them and get a workout done too….who needs a coffee shop?
Luckily the wind was kind to us and I ended my ride with a set of Killer Helshoogte climbs.

Friday….the long awaited rest day…woke up at 5am for swimming at 5.15am.Yes, the kids are back at school, so back to those lovely early morning swims.

The afternoon was spent on Clifton with a book and a good little nap!!!
The tough life in Africa!
